Barbara Ann
Belfi
February 13, 1947 – March 31, 2026
To sum up a life well lived is no simple task, but Barbara’s can be found in the love she gave so freely.
A devoted mother to eight children, she poured her heart into each of them—Karen, Christine, Michael, Janice, Jeffrey, Muriel, and Joseph—and the sons she now rejoins, Thomas and Paul. Her love only deepened as her family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored beyond measure. Barbara found joy in life’s little moments, from birthday parties filled with bright balloons and carefully tousled tissue paper to the many handmade scarves she lovingly crocheted for family and friends. A voracious reader turned talented writer, her Bible tells its own story—pages filled with highlights, notes, and reflections of a deep and thoughtful faith. Her home was the heart of every holiday, bringing together not just family, but anyone lucky enough to be welcomed in. She created adventure in the everyday—whether waking loved ones at 2 a.m. to marvel at fresh snowfall or setting off on spontaneous drives to the city or the beaches of Montauk, simply because she could.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Rose, and her sons, Thomas and Paul, whom she held close in her heart always.
The family she built stands as her greatest legacy, and the kindness she shared will live on for generations. Her loss is immeasurable, but so is the love she leaves behind. Forever in our hearts, Barbara—Mommy, Grandma. We love you.
Care of Barbara has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
