Born on March 20, 1939, in Oak Park, Illinois, Barbara was a beacon of compassion and dedication, whose contributions resonated deeply within her community and beyond.
With a career that spanned multiple fields, Barbara was a respected American Kennel Club Judge, having devoted years to nurturing her passion for dogs. She held prestigious memberships, including that of the Dalmatian Club of America, where she championed the breed with unparalleled enthusiasm and knowledge. As a testament to her leadership, she served as the past president of both the Fort Lauderdale Club and the Dalmatian Club of Atlanta. Her commitment was further highlighted by her position on the Board of Directors for the Golden Retriever Club of Atlanta, where her vast expertise guided many.
In addition to her achievements in the canine world, Barbara was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse, whose nurturing spirit touched countless lives in the Cherokee Library System. Her unwavering devotion to helping others was at the heart of her character, and she treated each individual with kindness, creating lasting bonds that enriched her community.
Barbara's gentle nature and boundless love endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind her cherished husband, Karl Kalbach, whose steadfast partnership accompanied her through life’s journey. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, which includes their beloved daughter, Kyle DiCiacca, and their grandson, Zak Skrobot. The bonds of love and support within her family were paramount to her happiness.
The legacy of Barbara Ann Kalbach will forever remain alive in the hearts of those she has touched. While she is preceded in death by her devoted parents, Elmer "Ky" Ellsworth Leasure and Lucille Helen Smith, her spirit continues to inspire kindness and generosity within all who remember her warmth and courage.
