It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brett William Smith, Sr.

Brett was born on March 27th 1963, he left us in the early morning on May 1st, 2026 at home in Talking Rock, Georgia with his oldest son by his side. He was only 63 years old. Brett was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in early 2025, he fought such an incredibly hard battle.

Brett is survived by his four children; Brett William Smith, Jr., Steven Michael Smith, SaLine Frances Smith Nichols, and Deven D'wayne Ira Smith.

He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren; Zoey and Zaden Nichols, Dustin, Rose and Charlie Haley, Ellie Smith & Bremen Clearwater. His great grandchildren Aurora Rose Cane and Juwan Garret Swain, Jr., (aka Tank).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly Smith and William Smith.

Brett spent a big part of his life with the mothers to his children; April Reid and Mary Yuhas. Brett was first and foremost a present and devoted father, He had so much pride in who his kids had become and never failed to let them know just how proud he was of them.

He was a dedicated hardworking man who built his career of thirty plus years in the wrecker industry, he owned his own carpet business at one point and was still working up until his body wouldn't allow him to anymore.

Brett had a love for fast cars and mustangs, he enjoyed spending time with his son Brett Jr. working on that passion together.

His daughter SaLine will forever miss his comfort and love, Deven will always cherish the love for wreckers and cars he has because of his father, and Steven will carry on the love and strength his dad provided.

The family wishes to thank Jenn Lamb for her loving devotion and care which allowed for Brett,Sr to remain at home and pass peacefully.

Brett was a big personality, never failed to say how he felt and he was always the type of man you knew you could count on.

We will miss him dearly.
