Christie Reene Ivey Patterson Newborn, age 59, of Austell, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Born on November 12, 1966, Christie was a woman whose happiness, warm personality, and beautiful smile could brighten any room. She had a joyful spirit and a way of making those around her feel loved and welcomed. Christie will be remembered as someone who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and shared that happiness freely with others.

A high school graduate, Christie worked throughout her life in finance and housekeeping. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time doing the things that brought her joy, including online shopping, gardening, keeping up with family and friends on Facebook, and fishing. Whether she was tending to her garden, finding something special while shopping, or enjoying a peaceful day fishing, Christie appreciated the little moments that made life meaningful.

Above all, Christie treasured the people she loved. Family held a special place in her heart, and the relationships she shared with those closest to her were among her greatest blessings. Her bonus son, Scotty Lee Ivey and his wife Ashley, shared an especially meaningful bond with Christie, looking to her as a second mother. Their relationship was a beautiful reflection of the love, kindness, and devotion she so naturally gave to those around her.

Christie leaves behind the love of her life, George Patterson; her sisters, Sherry Ivey and Rhonda Millsap and her husband Tim; her brothers, Jackie Ivey and Jason Ivey his wife Robin; her nieces, Katie Jo Corbin and Julie Lynn Williams; and her nephews Michael Ivey and his wife Carissa, and Jamie Ivey.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ronald and Patsy Ivey; brother James Ivey; her niece, Stephanie Reene Hill; and her nephew, Boe Ivey.

Christie’s life was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew her. Although her presence will be deeply missed, the warmth of her smile, the happiness she brought to others, and the love she shared with her family will remain in their hearts forever.

Those who knew Christie will remember her for the beautiful smile she wore so often and the joy she brought simply by being herself.
