Floyd Lee “Woody” Woods, 76, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on February 13, 2026.

Born October 12, 1949, in Boyle, Mississippi, Woody lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a love for the outdoors.

A proud 1969 graduate of Greenville High School, Woody spent his early years working as a lifeguard at LeRoy Percy Park in Hollandale, Mississippi. He later built a long career as a FedEx Ground contractor in Greenville, Mississippi. After relocating to Dalton, Georgia in 2006, he retired and married his loving wife, Annette Woods, with whom he shared many happy years.

Woody was an avid hunter and golfer who truly cherished time outdoors. He shared many memorable hunting adventures with his brother, Bobby, creating stories and traditions that will be remembered for years to come. He also loved spending time on the golf course with his wife, enjoying both the game and the companionship. Whether in the woods or on the green, those moments with family brought him his greatest joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Waters Woods and Jesse Virgil (J.V.) Woods, who instilled in him a lifelong love of family, the outdoors, and living life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Annette M. Woods; daughters, Jessica Woods-Horne (Bobby) and Kim Woods-Wright (Chris); brother, Bobby Woods; his biological grandchildren, Marcella Rose Horne and Anthony Lee Horne (expected May 2026); stepchildren, Tina Murray Cheeks (Matt) and Bronson Murray (Leslie); his step-grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Carter Johnson, Konner Hall, Austin Murray and Gracie Murray; six great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
