In every facet of her journey, she embodied compassion, strength, and an understanding of life’s simpler joys.
With profound love and sorrow, we remember Frances Rena Fint, who passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 63. Frances was born on July 20, 1963, in Floyd County. From her earliest years, she was known for a gentle spirit that touched many—an enduring warmth that never faded, regardless of the challenges life brought her way.
Frances faced the world with a resilient heart. Though her life was marked by disability, she never allowed it to define her. In every facet of her journey, she embodied compassion, strength, and an understanding of life’s simpler joys. Her deep, abiding love for animals—especially dogs—was well known to all who loved her. In their companionship she found solace and kinship, demonstrating daily the value of nurturing and kindness.
She is remembered by her children: daughter Gina Shafer, and sons Wendell Baker and his wife Jessica, Darrell Baker, and Scottie Ledford and his wife Ashley. Frances was also a cherished grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, whose lives she brightened with each smile and every gentle word. Her life and love extend further through the bonds she shared with her nieces and nephews.
Among those mourning her passing is her brother, Ronnie Johnson, whose memories of their time together are filled with laughter and unwavering support. Frances’s familial circle was large, yet loss dimmed it with the absences of her brother Mark Johnson; sisters Barbara Edwards, Elaine Lee, Glenda Duvall, and Rhonda Parker; and her mother, Virginia Robbins Wiggins .Each relationship was precious to Frances, and her spirit remains woven through a family that loved her dearly.
Her deep, abiding love for animals—especially dogs—was well known to all who loved her.
Frances’s wishes were simple: to be remembered with love, and to be laid to rest through cremation. Honoring her quiet nature and her expressed desires, there will be no formal service.
Though Frances’s time with us has drawn to a close, the impressions she made—the gentle comfort she offered, the understanding she provided, and the love she so freely gave—linger long in the hearts of those privileged to know her. Her legacy continues, not just within her family but also in the unspoken moments of comfort and connection she gave to all, especially in the wagging tails and loyal eyes of the animals she adored.
We hold Frances Rena Fint in memory and in heart, grateful for the years we shared and shaped by the love she gave.
Care of Frances has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
