James Richard McArthur, fondly known as Rick, was born on March 12, 1953, in Canton, Georgia. With a spirit as vibrant as the tie-dye shirts he loved to create, Rick passed away on December 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and laughter that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.

Rick's journey through life was a colorful tapestry woven with music and creativity. He played in a band named The Mighty Bison, where the sounds of his passion resonated through each performance, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many. In addition to his musical talents, Rick showcased his artistic flair by making tie-dye tee shirts, each piece an expression of joy and individuality.

A proud attendee of Cherokee High School, Rick’s love for life and his fun-loving nature made him a cherished companion to all. His ability to connect with people was his gift; he embraced everyone he met with an open heart and infectious enthusiasm. Friends of Rick often felt like family, and to them, he was a constant source of support and kindness. His warmth and genuine spirit forged bonds that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

Rick was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Henry McArthur and Betty Cagle McArthur, who instilled in him the values of love and compassion that marked his character. They have now welcomed him home, and we can only imagine the joy of their reunion.

While Rick may have departed from this world, his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. A Celebration of Life is planned to honor Rick's memory later in January, where everyone is encouraged to wear their tie-dye shirts in homage to his vibrant personality. During this gathering, friends and admirers will come together to share stories, laughter, and moments that defined Rick’s extraordinary life.

Rick's presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of kindness, joy, and connection will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Thank you to every friend who loved and cared for Rick; he cherished you all deeply.
