Janelle Katherine Orsborn, a radiant soul whose spirit burned brightly in the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2026, in Brookhaven, GA, surrounded by those she cherished most—her sisters, mother, and dear friend. Born on March 2, 1992, in Thornton, CO, Janelle emerged as a beacon of love and positivity, illuminating even the darkest moments with her fierce love, infectious joy and unyielding generosity.
Throughout her life, Janelle embodied creativity and purpose. She was a nurturing presence and natural leader who poured into others with intention and heart. Janelle’s journey took her from homeschooled beginnings to becoming the youngest licensed Massage Therapist in Colorado in 2009, all while receiving the title of Miss Colorado's Outstanding Teen, a remarkable achievement that reflected her ambition and discipline. She graduated high school in 2010 and went on to pursue higher education at Metro State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition in 2012.
Janelle’s vibrant personality made her the biggest light in any room, ensuring that everyone felt seen and valued. Her warmth extended beyond mere presence; she crafted meaningful experiences for others, whether through coordinating annual family traditions, mentoring young girls, hosting sister dinners, or facilitating healing circles. Each encounter with Janelle was a gift, marked by her talent for making every person feel special. She was the embodiment of intentionality—a thoughtful gift-giver who never arrived empty-handed.
As a business owner of Coco Love and co-author of the children's book, The Adventure of Love, Janelle's creativity had no bounds. Her career showcased her remarkable talents as she danced between diverse roles, from a Yoga Instructor and Breath Work Facilitator to an actress and mentor in pageants and performing arts. With too many to name, some of her proudest achievements included leading mission trips to Afghanistan, Haiti, and Africa, and nurturing young minds as program director for NLA and GYLA.
Janelle's adventurous spirit thrived through her hobbies—traveling, cooking, exercising, and hiking 14ers. She cherished dancing and mountain biking, while also seeking solace in cacao ceremonies and the shared connections found in intentional healing circles. With a special place in her heart for her siblings, she was known for gifting memorable experiences and love to those around her.
She fought gallantly against the most aggressive form of stage 4 metastatic colon cancer, exploring every avenue available in treatment until her last days. Though her battle was hard-fought, she remained unwaveringly selfless, demonstrating courage that inspired all who witnessed her struggle.
Janelle leaves behind her loving family: her father, Mark Orsborn; her mother, Judy Orsborn; her dear sisters, Anna, Abigail, and Natalie; her brothers, Jake and Daniel; her treasured niece, Jette, and nephew, Roman; and her sisters- and brother-in-law, Angelyn, Chloe, and Sam. Her absence leaves an indelible mark on their hearts and the hearts of countless others who were fortunate enough to experience her radiant light.
Her legacy extends beyond her accomplishments; it lives in the many lives she touched with kindness, encouragement, and intentionality. If you had the honor of knowing Janelle Katherine Orsborn, you understand the profound impact she made—a true one-of-a-kind spirit who will forever be missed but never forgotten.
