“Grief is the last act of love we can give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love." --- Anonymous

Feeling the way we do assures us of how deeply loved Jonathan was.

Light-hearted, charming, and charismatic, Jonathan Billick (39) had a gift for entertaining and making sure everyone was having a good time. Many remember him for his stories, laughter, and care free attitude. After getting some good practice in as “Uncle Spanky”, he recently became a father to Beckham (5 months old) and was embracing the ups and downs that come with parenthood.

Those that knew Jonathan well know that he faced more life altering challenges than most. He was open about his struggles with addiction and alcoholism that he battled for much of his life. His first cancer diagnosis (stage 3 melanoma) was in 2014. In 2022, after being in remission for a few years and sober two, he learned that it had metastasized to his brain, spine, and then eye. After almost 4 years of treatment, he passed away on May 7th. He lived a lot of life in those four years and did not suffer in death, which was a true blessing.

Because Jonathan leaves behind his young son, we are asking that donations be made to Beckham Billick in lieu of flowers. Funds will be put into a saving account managed by his Uncle Joe. When Beckham reaches adulthood, he will have access to these resources, giving him a foundation for his future and a reminder of the community that cared for him. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-beckham-billick

We welcome your prayers as we lean on Jesus in this season. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Care of Jonathan has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
