With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Mark Ogle, who departed this life on July 18, 2026, at the age of 74. Joseph was born on October 11, 1951, carrying with him the steadfast spirit and warmth of his musical passion throughout his remarkable journey.

Joseph was a man defined by both passion and kindness. He was an avid fisherman whose peaceful days by the water brought him solace and joy. His love for music resonated deeply—he was a talented musician, often found embracing the strum of a guitar, adding treasured pieces to his beloved collection over many years. Through each note, Joseph not only expressed himself but also shared his affection with family and friends, creating memories that will echo for generations.

His career at MARTA stood as a pillar of his life’s work. Dedicated, diligent, and always eager to help, Joseph’s steady presence and hard-earned wisdom earned him the respect of his colleagues and those who relied on Atlanta's transit system. When he retired, he left behind more than a career; he left a legacy of commitment and quiet mentorship.

Joseph's family was the heart of his world. He is survived by his devoted son, Jeffrey Mark Ogle, and loving daughter-in-law, Tara Dawn Ogle. He was especially proud of his grandchildren—Elizabeth Cady Mathis, Jonathan Mark Ogle, Jackson Timothy Mathis and his great grandson Cade Wesley Mathis, . Each of them carries forward his humor, optimism, and generous spirit.

Though Joseph’s journey has drawn to a close, he rejoins in peace his dear parents, Joseph Quinton Ogle and Elizabeth Lena Ogle, as well as his cherished sisters, Carol Elkins and Patty Weber. Their memories remain as threads in the tapestry of his life—a source of comfort to those he leaves behind.

A celebration of Joseph Mark Ogle’s life will be planned in the near future, when all those touched by his warmth and friendship may gather to honor him. Details will be shared with family and friends as arrangements are made.

Joseph’s memory will be tenderly held in the hearts of those who knew him. His laughter, passion for music, love for the water, and above all, his devotion to family live on in his legacy—a true testament to a well-lived life and an extraordinary man.
