Linda L.
Wilson
July 22, 1955 – April 24, 2026
Linda L. Wilson, a beacon of kindness and the queen of cafeteria charm at Bascomb Elementary School, peacefully slipped away on April 24, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on a summer’s day, July 22, 1955, in the bustling city of Atlanta, Georgia, Linda’s life was anything but ordinary—though she certainly made even the simplest moments enjoyable.
For those lucky enough to know her, Linda was a true delight—a loving soul who thrived on the smiles and hugs of children, offering not just lunch, but warmth and laughter each school day. Her heart found joy in watching young minds grow, and her role as a cafeteria worker was far more than a job.
Outside of work, Linda embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. Whether she was cheering on her NASCAR favorites, enjoying poker runs, taking golf cart rides, or floating on the lake, she carried a contagious love for living. The lake was one of her happiest places—a setting where friendships flourished, laughter echoed, and some of her favorite memories were made.
Linda also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling the Georgia and Florida coastlines to admire lighthouses. Much like the beacons she admired, Linda was a steady and comforting light to those around her. Her favorite place to be was on the dock, relaxing in the water and swapping stories with dear friends, embodying the warmth and ease of Southern charm.
She deeply cherished her time at VCCI, where the friendships, celebrations, and lifelong bonds she formed became an important part of her life. Those treasured friendships brought her joy, strength, and unwavering support—especially during this past year—and were among the greatest gifts she carried with her.
Her faithful feline companions, Alie and Frannie, were often by her side, curling up with her during quiet evenings that balanced her lively days. This loving nature extended deeply into her family life, where her proudest accomplishment was the family she cherished so dearly and the warm home she shared with her late husband, Ron Wilson, for more than 25 happy years.
Linda leaves behind her devoted children, Rodney (Alison) and Chad (Liz); a lively and much-loved group of grandchildren—Sydney, Gavin, Katheryn, Kendall, and Brett; her sister, Larae Gramling; and her beloved nephew, Rick Storick. Though she longed for those who had gone before her—her husband Ron and her father Harold Latham—her love remains a vibrant and enduring thread in the lives of those she leaves behind.
Care of Linda has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
