IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcella Lee
Rylee
May 7, 1946 – March 24, 2026
Marcella Lee Rylee, a resolutely strong and spirited woman whose life was woven with love, determination, and a zest for the everyday joys, passed away on March 24, 2026. Born on May 7, 1946, in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Marcella’s journey through life was marked by an unyielding strength and a free spirit that inspired those who knew her.
As a dedicated housewife and homemaker, Marcella cultivated a home filled with warmth and vibrancy. Her personality was bold and unapologetic—spunky, fun-loving, and never one to mince words. She embraced life with a passion that was both fierce and inviting. Her days were often spent mowing grass, painting, and engaging in various crafts, for Marcella took delight in diving into whatever captured her interest. Her hands were always busy, and her heart always open.
One of Marcella’s most cherished memories was her profound love for Christmas. Year after year, she transformed her home into a sanctuary of holiday spirit by putting up an ever-growing number of Christmas trees—a testament to her joyfulness and her desire to create magic for her loved ones. This tradition was more than decoration; it was an extension of her warm and generous soul.
Marcella’s proudest accomplishment was her resilience—a quality that defined her existence. She was strong and never gave up, quietly carrying this steady bravery through the chapters of her life. Her legacy is one of unwavering courage and heartfelt authenticity.
Her memory is lovingly carried forward by those closest to her: her daughter Angela Callaway, along with dear friends Charlene Edwards and Vivian Ledford; her granddaughters Chastity Crane, Ileen Lincoln, April Brown, Kimberly Hill, and Piper Ledford; and her grandson Tanner Ledford. The joyful spirit of Marcella also lives on through her five beloved grand dogs, Max, Daisy, Cricket, Rusty, and Jack. The laughter and light of ten great-grandchildren further continue the vibrant thread of her family’s story.
Marcella’s life was shaped in part by those who came before her, including her mother Charlus Hayes and father Joe Leonard Hayes, as well as her husbands, Faine Harris and Isaac Rylee, all of whom have preceded her in passing.
In remembering Marcella Lee Rylee, we recall a woman who embodied resilience and exuberance. A free spirit who watered the seeds of joy in every season of her life, she leaves behind a tapestry rich with strength, love, and the undeniable mark of a life lived fully and fearlessly. Her story is etched into the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Care of Marcella has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
