Mark Alexander Bennett, a cherished husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at the age of 70, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born on July 20, 1955, in Buffalo, New York, Mark lived a life brimming with passion, ingenuity, and resilience, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Mark dedicated a significant portion of his professional life to the aerospace industry, demonstrating an unwavering commitment while employed at renowned companies such as Moog and Parker Aerospace. His journey in this field began modestly, yet he ascended through the ranks with an impressive acuity for electrical engineering—a skill honed during his formative years at Iroquios High School, followed by further education at the University of Buffalo and Erie Community College.

The essence of Mark's character was illuminated by an enthusiastic love for music, particularly classic rock, and this affection transcended mere enjoyment; it became a defining aspect of his social engagement. His spirit resonated vibrantly at local music festivals, where friends and fellow music lovers would gather to celebrate the rhythm of life with him. As a man deeply rooted in the joys of the natural world, Mark found fulfillment in skiing the slopes of upstate New York and later embraced sunnier days, relishing the warmth of the beach at his cherished vacation home in Venice, Florida. There he created memorable moments alongside his beloved dogs, forging bonds that enriched his soul.

An ardent golfer, Mark proudly represented Moog’s employee golf team, where camaraderie and laughter were as integral to the experience as the game itself. For those fortunate enough to witness his zest for life, Mark’s unwavering positivity in the face of adversity was nothing short of inspirational. A devout Christian, he faced his cancer diagnosis with dignity and grace, ever supported by the love of his wife, Sara K. Holland Bennett.

Mark’s enduring legacy is beautifully embodied in his surviving family: his wife Sara, whose strength and love were constants throughout their years together; his stepson Chris (Leslie), and his grandchildren Kayla, Hannah, Brian, and Brayden; stepson Scott (Jennifer), and grandchildren Kamryn and Kaleb; and stepdaughter Christy (Chad), and grandchildren Celia and Charlie. He takes pride in his own son, Cole Bennett (Emily), and grandsons Austin, Beau, and Grant Bennett, as well as his beloved daughter, Kara Bennett. Mark is also survived by his cherished sisters, Pam Bennett, Terri Gaitan, and Carol Montgomery, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.

Mark was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dorothy Manchester Bennett and Eugene Bennett, along with his brother, Gary Bennett, who is survived by his wife, Lucia.

As per Mark's wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory as his ashes are spread in the intercoastal waters of Florida. Additionally, his service in the United States Air Force will be commemorated with a memorial service at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA, at a future date.

In the hearts of many, Mark Alexander Bennett will forever remain a beacon of kindness, laughter, and unwavering faith—a reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the beauty of a life well-lived.
