Melvin Dwain Walters, born on September 11, 1959, in Tocooa, Georgia, peacefully departed from this world on July 6, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia. He was 65 years old at the time of his passing. Melvin was known for his great sense of humor, often bringing joy and laughter to those around him. A kind-hearted individual, he touched the lives of many, leaving behind warm memories that will be cherished by family and friends.
Melvin is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Walters, two daughters, Kayla Walters (Blue) and Chasnie Taylor. He was also a proud stepfather to Jessica Lee (Josh), Cameron Crider and Jesse Crider and a loving grandfather to Brooklyn Taylor, Hannah Taylor, and Kenley Taylor. His legacy continues with his great granddaughter, Emersyn Grace, who brought immense joy to his life. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Robbie Walters, and mother-in-law, Mary Woody, as well as his brother-in-law, Anthony Woody. Melvin had many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends, all of whom will remember him fondly.
In his leisure time, Melvin enjoyed various hobbies including NASCAR racing, taking walks, and watching television. His passions and interests were a meaningful part of who he was.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jack Woody, and his sister-in-law, Sherrie Childers. His absence will be felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The light he brought into our lives will continue to shine through the cherished memories he leaves behind.
