Michael’s path carried him from Louisville to Malmstrom Air Force Base, where he served his country with honor.

Michael Patrick Mahoney, Sr., a resident of Euharlee, Georgia, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 23, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, he lived a life marked by service, hard work, friendship, and deep family connection.

Michael’s path carried him from Louisville to Malmstrom Air Force Base, where he served his country with honor. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and RETS Institute of Technology, accomplishments that reflected his steady determination and commitment to building a meaningful life. He later retired from Delta, closing a chapter of dedicated work that was an important part of his life. He was also a member of the American Legion. Those who knew Michael will remember, too, the simple pleasure he found in sharing a Jack and Coke with friends, a small but telling reflection of his easy companionship and the warmth he brought to those around him.

Above all, Michael will be remembered by the family who carry his memory forward. He is survived by his son, Pat Mahoney, and Pat’s wife, Mary Jo. He also leaves his granddaughter, Mariah Farris, and her husband, Toby, as well as his grandson, William Mahoney. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Emerie, and Malakai He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whose lives were part of the wider circle of family he held dear.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie Edwards Mahoney. Together, her memory and his remain woven into the story of their family.

He was also a member of the American Legion.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at his residence on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
