Michael Lynn Thomason

Michael Lynn Thomason, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on July 20, 2026.

Michael was born in Ringgold, Georgia. His love for the beach led him to live in Florida for many years before returning to his North Georgia roots. He was an excellent mechanic who loved fast cars and music. Michael also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors wherever he lived.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Thomason; son, Curt (Chenoa) Thomason; grandchildren, Andrew (Grace) Thomason, Bethany (Nicholas) Burgess, and Samuel Thomason; siblings, Kim (Winston) Brummett, Darrell Roper, and Dale (Malina) Roper; and his best friend, Michael Trionfo.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Betty Jane and Bob Roper; his father, Wilburn Thomason; his sister, Brenda Gilbert; and his brother, Donnie Thomason.

A memorial service to honor the life of Michael Thomason will be announced by the family at a later time. The family would like to send a special thank you to nurse Megan and the wonderful staff at Sacred Journey Hospice for their compassionate care.
