Myra Jean Roemer, born on August 12, 1946, in San Francisco, passed away on August 29, 2026.
She loved nature, especially hummingbirds, deer, and cats, and found joy in the beauty and companionship they brought.
Myra will be remembered for the warmth she extended so naturally to others and for the gracious spirit that made people feel at home in her presence. She loved nature, especially hummingbirds, deer, and cats, and found joy in the beauty and companionship they brought. She was also an avid cribbage player, a pastime that reflected both her lively mind and her enjoyment of time shared with others. Caring for people was one of the defining gifts of her life. She was an amazing host, welcoming and warm to everyone she met, and her generosity of heart left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
One of the happiest chapters of Myra’s life began when she reconnected with the love of her life, Sam. Together they shared twelve wonderful years filled with love, companionship, and many happy memories. Their time together was a source of deep happiness and enduring comfort.
She is survived by Sam, the love of her life and devoted partner; by her children, David and Laurie, Debbie and Tim, and Julie and Peter Bishop; and by her beloved grandchildren, Camille, Alex, Kiely, Jake, Chris, Shelby, Joseph, and Karly. The family she cherished so deeply stands as a living reflection of the love, welcome, and care she gave so freely throughout her life.
Myra was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Shoemaker Groth, and her father, Edmond Groth.
