IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norman Edward
Shein
February 7, 1941 – April 1, 2026
Norman Edward Shein—a veteran, entrepreneur, and devoted family man—passed away on April 1, 2026. He was 85 years old.
Born in the Bronx on February 7, 1941, Norman was a New Yorker at heart throughout his life. His fascination with mechanics began at Aviation High School in New York, and his technical aptitude led him to the United States Air Force, where he served with distinction as an aviation mechanic. He carried that precision into the creative world, founding Barnor Films and establishing himself as a talented motion picture film editor. Later, his entrepreneurial drive led him to create Country Coach Limo Service, where he proudly managed a small fleet of cars.
While he built a successful legacy on land, Norman’s heart truly belonged to the sea. He had a deep, abiding love for the ocean and owned several boats over the years. An avid fisherman, Norman was often at his happiest with a line in the water, finding peace and joy in the rhythm of the waves. He was also known for his legendary sweet tooth; whether it was a box of Junior Mints or a scoop of ice cream, Norman never met a candy he didn't like.
After living in South Carolina, Norman and Connie moved to Georgia seven years ago, where they cherished the time spent living with their son Jeff, daughter-in-law Linda, and their family.
Norman was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; his mother, Rose; and his beloved daughter, Diane.
He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Constance Shein; his son, Jeffrey, and daughter-in-law, Linda; his daughter, Risa; and his stepdaughter, Jeannine, and her husband, Moose. He was the immensely proud grandfather of Russell (and wife Debbie), Andrew (and wife Eden), Melyssa, Nick, Anthony (and wife Nicole), and Jon. He also leaves behind his brother, Paul, as well as Paul’s children and their families.
Norman will be remembered as a man of service, creativity, and quiet strength—a captain of his own life who navigated the world with skill, humor, and a deep love for his family.
A private celebration of life service will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Norman’s memory to Tapestry Hospice.
Care of Norman has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
