Born on November 29, 1952, in Springfield, Illinois, Butch grew to become an embodiment of strength and compassion, qualities that defined his illustrious career as a police officer and Highway Patrolman in Sarasota, Florida.
His journey of personal and professional excellence began with an associate degree from Manatee Jr. College in Bradenton, Florida, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to public service. Butch was not merely a figure of authority; he was a protector of the community, a man who relished in the responsibilities of his vocation, and who held a profound love for helping people. His friends will fondly recall his endearing nickname, "Butch," a testament to his vibrant personality and the playful spirit that characterized his interactions with peers and loved ones.
Butch's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was deeply committed to self-improvement and fitness, often found working out, not only to better himself but also as a means of forging connections within his community. His talents were numerous; he had a remarkable ability to build and create, undertaking projects that brought joy and support to those around him.
Surviving Butch are his beloved wife, Susan Le Croix Zinn, whose love was a constant through all of life’s seasons, and his devoted daughter, Angela Zinn. He is also survived by his sisters, Ginger Embry, Traci Wilkes, and Becky Zinn, as well as his brother, Paul Zinn. Each family member carries with them memories of Ralph's kindness and strength, forever etched in their hearts.
Though Butch has reunited with his parents in eternity, his spirit resonates in the lives of all who knew him.
