Raynold Harland Jackson, Jr. was born July 5th, 1941, in Bangor, Maine to the late Raynold Harland Jackson and Captolia Joan (Doane) Jackson. In recent decades he was a resident of Mesa County, Colorado, but passed away peacefully December 25th, 2025 at the home of his daughter in Georgia at the age of 84.

Dad left Junior High School to work with his own father as a lumberjack with a horse and a two-man crosscut saw to support a large and growing family.

He married his sweetheart Ida while they were both quite young and then worked hard to support his own growing family, mostly by his own lumberjack business which not only supported our family but several other families. In the 1980s he made the difficult decision to relocate the remaining family at home to the Western Slope of Colorado for drier weather to aid Mom’s severe asthma, a move which contributed greatly to the quality of the last 40 years or so of her life.

While Dad never graduated from high school, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t maintain, fix, and/or repair, often using whatever he had available, and using very complex laws of physics which he couldn’t give labels to but keenly understood, always applying them with the utmost regard for safety. He was known for always being willing to help friends, family, and complete strangers with repairs or assistance. He, along with Mom, taught us kids how to work with our hands in most all the trades, to work hard, to respect others, and most importantly, to love our Creator, Jehovah God.

In his later years he worked as a short-haul truck driver then as an Owner-Operator for the long-haul truck driving company he and Mom established, called Atta-Boy Construction. He was often accompanied on the road by Mom. They loved spending time with family and friends and often arranged delivery routes that allowed nearby visits to siblings, children, and grandchildren, all throughout the year and throughout the country. They also loved morning phone calls over coffee with family back East.

Dad cared deeply for Mom throughout her decades of asthma and COPD, as well as years of decline with dementia, and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before she died last year. When it became necessary to involve hospice-at-home services for Mom, several nurses commented on what beautiful condition her skin was in and that they rarely if ever saw that level of care provided by the spouse or family. This was a tribute to the unwavering care Dad provided Mom with the greatest of love.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by Mom - Ida Eva (LeBlanc) Jackson, brother Bruce Jackson; sister Beverly (Jackson) Sanborn; and sons Chris Jackson, Brian Jackson, and Randy Jackson; and others, including granddaughter Ashley Rogers at the tender age of four.

He is survived by four children as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dad requested there not be a funeral or memorial service and requested his cremains be buried next to Mom’s in the Cardville Cemetary in Greenbush, Maine near where they raised most of our family.

The family would like to express their heartfelt and profound appreciation to Dr. Silvanna Esposito and her staff of Grand Valley Primary Care in Palisade, Colorado for the excellent and compassionate care provided to both Mom and Dad throughout their illnesses, as well as Georgia Mountain Hospice staff for the kind and professional care shown to Dad recently.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any organization supporting COPD/dementia treatment/research, and/or https://donate.jw.org.

Care of Mr. Jackson has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
