IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rebecca Browning
Huffman
January 21, 1943 – February 11, 2026
Rebecca Browning Huffman, cherished wife and mother, and treasured matriarch of four generations, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026 at the age of 83.
Born on January 21, 1943 in Morganton, North Carolina, Becky illuminated the lives of those around her with her kind spirit and unwavering passion for creativity. Becky's warmth and kindness were the cornerstones of her personality, enduring her to friends and family alike. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Joe Huffman, and a nurturing mother to her sons, Trey and Jeff Huffman. Trey and his wife Janet Huffman were the first to make her a proud grandmother, bringing joy with their two sons,Joey and Cooper. Jeff broke the male monopoly with beautiful granddaughter, Rebecca Grace (Becca) named after grandmother Rebecca. Last, but certainly loved as much,Joey and wife Ashton Huffman started the fourth generation with daughter Miss Emerson, and Joe's mirror image Emmett. Susan and Pat Huffman, Becky's sister-in-laws, were more than just family, they were very special friends dating back to high school.
Becky was a very talented and artistic person who excelled in an early career in the women's fashion industry. She designed and accessorized all the showroom windows of her employer, Lazarus's of Morganton, as well as helping with merchandising and buying for the younger generation. They wanted to send her to a design and merchandising school in New York for a year and she had to make the hard choice between career and marriage. Fortunately for her husband and future family she chose marriage and family.
Beyond devotion to family, Becky had many outside interests. Her two most favorites were hanging out and playing tennis with her friends at Bent Tree, and working in the botanical garden with her fellow Ball Ground Club members. Becky and Joe moved to the Jasper area in 1999 and have made many long lasting friends and their kindness and friendship will never be forgotten.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her loving father, DM Browning, her beloved mother Mary Rogers Browning, and her dear brother Mack Browning, all from Morganton, North Carolina. Their memories will forever remain intertwined with her legacy and in the hearts of those who knew and admired her.
Care of Rebecca has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
