It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing Richard Lewis Head, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left this world on December 21, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 8, 1948, in Thomaston, Georgia, Richard lived a life filled with passion and dedication, becoming a man of deep integrity and warmth.
Richard's love for classic cars illustrated his hard-working nature and unyielding spirit. He was not just a mechanic but an artist who found joy in working on engines, embodying the very essence of being a "man's man." His impressive knowledge and skills with automobiles were matched only by his generosity and kindness towards others, always willing to lend a hand and share a smile.
A veteran of the Army, Richard's service to his country showcased his commitment and sense of duty, qualities that defined not just his military career but every aspect of his life. He built a legacy of hard work and determination that inspired those around him. Richard loved everyone, creating bonds with family and friends that will be cherished forever.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Trayci Willis (Kirk), sons Michael (Stephanie) and Ricky Head, who carry his spirit forward and hold dear the memories of a father who loved them deeply. He was blessed with grandchildren Drew Willis, Cayci Willis, Ritchie Head, Jordan Head, and Savannah Willis, great-grandchildren Zai and Zae McGhee, as well as Liam, Landon and Roan Montour. The generations that follow will always remember the lessons he imparted, the laughter he shared, and the unconditional love he gave.
Richard's journey in this life has reunited him with those who have gone before him. He is now resting alongside his father, Raymond McClendon Head, his mother, Easter Lily Demine, and his brothers, William and Jerry Head. While they grieve his loss, his family finds solace in the memories they created together and the knowledge that he is at peace.
A service to honor the life of Richard Lewis Head, Sr. will take place at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, where he will be laid to rest. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he has left on all of us. The inurnment will be held on January 2, 2025, starting at 8:30 AM.

As we remember Richard, let us take a moment to reflect on the love and strength he brought to our lives, the laughter we shared, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. May his memory serve as a guiding light for us all.
