Roger Mathew Mathison

Roger Mathew Mathison, a beloved family man and cherished friend, departed from this life on November 7, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia, at the age of 52. Born on December 31, 1972, in Cartersville, Georgia, Roger was known for his loving and caring nature and his remarkable ability to bring laughter to those around him.

Roger was a devoted father to his daughter, Amber Mathison, and he took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to his grandchildren, Annslee and Kynslee Coleman. His family meant the world to him, and he was often described as the glue that held them all together. Amber fondly remembers a special outing to Olive Garden, where they laughed together over his enthusiasm for the restaurant's "Big Bowl of Salad." Such memories highlight the joyful spirit he brought into everyday life.

A proud supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, Roger dedicated many spirited afternoons to cheering for his favorite team. He was also a passionate admirer of Donald Trump, with family members often laughing as they reminisced about his admiration for the former president.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Amber Mathison (Kevin Coleman); grandchildren, Annslee Coleman and Kynslee Coleman; brothers, Junior Mathison, Stanley Mathison (Norma Banks), and Freddie Mathison (Shanna Mathison); sister, Becky Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his son, Zachery Mathison; mother, Elizabeth Mathison; father, Charles Mathison; brother, Joey Mathison; and nephew, Austin Mathison. Their memories of Roger will forever be cherished by those who loved him.
