Ronald "Ron" Gene Hefnider, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Canton, Georgia, at the age of 85. Born on May 1, 1940, Ron lived a life marked by dedication, love, and adventure.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ron went on to forge a remarkable career with United Airlines in Los Angeles, dedicating an impressive 44 years to the company. His work not only provided him with a fulfilling professional life, but also laid the foundation for memorable experiences that he cherished deeply with airplanes. Among his favorite memories were the many journeys he took to Hawaii, where he enjoyed the stunning landscapes and vibrant rainbows. These trips often served as a reminder of his honeymoon on the big island, moments that brought him great joy and reminiscence.

Ron’s love story began in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he met his future wife, Sandra, during an airline Interline Ski Trip. As they came to know one another, Ronald eagerly passed on his passion for skiing, teaching Sandra the secrets of the slopes. Their connection blossomed from that first encounter into a beautiful partnership that lasted for 49 wonderful years, filled with love and shared adventures.

Beyond his professional achievements and fond memories, Ron was also an avid tennis enthusiast. He was a proud member of the Newport Beach Tennis Club in California, where he enjoyed both the sport and the camaraderie it brought. He enjoyed participating in many tennis tournaments in Hawaii and Palm Springs, California that was setup by airline personnel.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Hefnider; his sister, Linda Barry (David Woodward); his sister, Sue Mosley (Paul); his nephew, Adam Barry (Wendy); his great niece and nephew, Sydney and Gavin Barry; as well as his wife's brother, Dana Camp (Sue). Ron's warm spirit and kindness touched the lives of many friends who cherished him throughout his journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Betty Hefnider, and his nephew, Christopher Mosley. Ronald Gene Hefnider leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and warmth that will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
