Roy Stephen Coley, a man whose kind heart and unwavering love for family touched all who knew him, peacefully passed away at home on June 4, 2026. Born on February 7, 1953, in Cedartown, Georgia, Roy’s life was a testament to dedication, warmth, and perseverance.

From his early days in Cedartown, Roy embraced a life full of hard work and service to others. He proudly served as a long-haul trucker before retiring, a career that took him across many miles and landscapes, always with a spirit of kindness and reliability. Later, he devoted himself to the Paulding County School System as a school bus driver, caring for children daily and ensuring their safe journeys—a role that reflected his deep commitment to community and safety.

Roy's personality was marked by genuine kindness. Those fortunate enough to know him remember not only his dependable nature but also his open heart. Throughout his life, the central theme remained his profound love for his family, his treasured source of joy and strength.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Elizabeth Coley, whose partnership sustained him through life’s challenges and triumphs. Together, they nurtured a loving family. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Christina Skinner, and her husband Jim; his sons, John Connally and James Richards; and his grandchildren, Jadi Coleman (and Michael), Amber Holder (and Jason), Brooke Godbee (and Will), and PJ Skinner. The legacy of love that Roy created extends to his great-grandchildren—JJ, Eli, Cooper, Bentley, Carson, Aria, Mia, Caleb, Tatum, and Clayton. Along with Brother, Tony Coley and Sister, Sue Coley and nieces and nephews— each carrying forward a piece of his spirit and kindness.

Roy’s journey was also shaped by those who have gone before him, including his mother, Lottie Pendley, and his brother, Tim Coley, whose memories remain etched in the fabric of his life.

While the sorrow of his passing is profound, so too is the celebration of a life well-lived. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held in the near future, a gathering to honor his memory, share stories, and find comfort in each other.

Roy Stephen Coley’s legacy is one of heartfelt compassion and steadfast devotion to family. His kind spirit and the love he so freely offered will remain a guiding light to all who were blessed to know him. Though he has passed from this world, his memory endures in the hearts of his loved ones, like a gentle beacon of love and kindness that will never fade.
