Samantha Crider, age 60, of Fairmount, Georgia, passed away at 6:44pm on August 2nd, 2025. She was born on March 30, 1965, in Peoria, Illinois.
Samantha was a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother, and the heart of her family. She consistently brought joy, laughter, and light to those around her. She loved to have fun and had a natural gift for making people smile and laugh, creating unforgettable moments.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Crider, who stood by her side and cared for her faithfully through sickness and health. Together, they shared 27 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and partnership. She is also survived by her daughter, Ashley Boots, “her sunshine”, and Ashley’s husband, David Boots, as well as her stepchildren, Amanda Bogardus and her husband, George Bogardus, and David Shane Crider and his wife, Sara Crider. Samantha is also survived by six grandchildren.
She leaves behind her loving parents, Thomas and Connie Stroud, and her siblings: Chad Stroud; Thomas Stroud and his wife Amanda Stroud; Belinda Williams and her husband Keith Williams; Jocynda Stroud; and Cassandra Stroud. She also leaves behind her best friend, Melinda Berglar, who has always loved her like a sister and shared a bond that lasted a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Angie Menz, whose memory she carried in her heart. Angie’s husband, Mike Menz, remains a part of the family.
Samantha lived a full life with a loving husband and a daughter who were both her whole world. She was a creative spirit, a homemaker, a great friend, a devoted mother, and a loving wife. She loved to sing and dance, no matter who was watching. Her warmth, energy, and joy will be remembered by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
A viewing will be held at In Their Honor Funeral & Cremation located in Fairmount, Ga on Friday, August 8th, 2025, at 6:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 11:00am.
In honoring Samantha’s memory, the family invites you to hold your loved ones a little closer, share a laugh when you can, and choose kindness every chance you get. That’s how she lived, full of love and laughter. Let her legacy live on in the way we care for one another.
