Sandra Jean Haight, born on April 22, 1941, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, departed this world on January 20, 2026. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy, a testimony to a life marked by love, dedication, and vivacity.

Having graduated in June 1963 from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and French, Sandra ventured into a life enriched by travel and cultural exploration. Her insatiable curiosity led her around the globe, with a fondness for cruising, particularly the majestic waters of Alaska. It was within this globetrotting spirit that she found both adventure and joy, embodying a love for life that was palpable to all who knew her.

Sandra's most profound commitment was to her family. Married on July 13, 1962, to her beloved husband Richard Haight, she demonstrated unwavering devotion that would endure through the years. Together they nurtured a beautiful family, including their son Jeff Haight (Alethea) and daughter Tara Rodkin (Brad), along with five cherished grandchildren: Hunter Rodkin, Christian Haight, Kate Bartlett, Nikolas Haight, and Rylan Haight. Adding further brightness to their lineage, she celebrated the arrival of three great-grandchildren: Isla Bartlett, Eden Bartlett, and Cooper Haight. The times spent gathering as a family brought Sandra immense happiness, as her home became a sanctuary of love and warmth.

Not only was she a devoted wife and adoring mother, Sandra was also a passionate advocate for animal rights, dedicating her efforts to rescue and foster Italian greyhounds and chihuahuas over many years, including her beloved dogs Sweet Pea, Lucy, and Zoey. Her compassion extended beyond her furry companions, as she actively supported the ASPCA, reflecting her unwavering commitment to those in need.

Sandra was a culinary artist in her own right, renowned for her award-winning cookies and pies. With her oven abuzz during the holiday season, she lovingly baked hundreds of Christmas cookies each year, creating delectable treats that delighted family and friends alike. The artistry she brought to her baking was matched only by her talent for cooking and entertaining, filling her home with joy, laughter, and unforgettable flavor.

Throughout her life, Sandra was a beacon of light, exuding a loving spirit to all she encountered. Her radiant personality and zest for life touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in her journey.

As the family prepares a celebration of life, to be scheduled in the future in The Villages, Florida, they take solace in the beautiful memories that remain. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Fithen, and her mother, Sophia Bednar Fithen, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms. In the hearts she touched, Sandra Jean Haight will continue to live on, a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, dedication, and an unyielding spirit.
