Tammy Sue Higginbotham, a resident of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 60 after a long battle with cancer. Born on July 23, 1964, Tammy faced many challenges throughout her life with effort and grit. Though the journey was not always easy, she loved her family in the best way she could, and her family loved her in return.
In the final chapter of her life, Tammy made the decision to stop treatment. She is now free from pain and suffering, and we find peace in knowing she is with Jesus. We hold onto the promise that we will see her again one day.
She is survived by her children: William Thomas Higginbotham IV (Tommy) and his wife Cathryn, Daniel Eugene Higginbotham and his wife Amber, and Timothy David Higginbotham. Tammy was a grandmother to William Thomas Higginbotham V (Liam), Everhett Raymond Higginbotham, Charlotte Colleen Higginbotham, Kasen Gage Higginbotham, and Annabelle Grace Higginbotham, as well as step-grandchildren Abigail Lynn Coffman and Hudson Michael Coffman.
She is also survived by her siblings David Burns and Tracy Statler. Tammy was preceded in death by her former husband, William Thomas Higginbotham III (Bill); her daughter-in-law, Cassie Higginbotham; her granddaughter, Brynleigh Grace Higginbotham; her parents, Gene and Lottie Burns; and siblings Andy Burns, Deborah Tuck, Eddie Burns, and Kenneth Burns.
Tammy enjoyed reading and found comfort in quiet moments with a good book. Her life, full of both hardship and meaning, shaped the lives of her children in ways that will always remain a part of who they are. The good, the difficult, and everything in between—her story is part of theirs. Her loved ones will carry that forward, always.
