In Loving Memory of Theresa Mincey
April 25, 1959 – March 16, 2026
Theresa Mincey was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend whose presence could light up any room.
There was never a dull moment with Theresa—she was the life of every party, full of personality, laughter, music, and an energy that people remembered long after she left the room. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel memorable and brought a spark with her wherever she went.
Theresa was also an incredible dancer whose “Reggae Mama” spirit embraced the vibes of Bob Marley and Rastafari. Music was a part of who she was, and some of the most cherished memories of her are connected to the songs, dancing, and carefree moments she loved so much.
A cherished memory remains of her and her late husband, Stephen Baker, dancing together on the sands of Siesta Key to “96° in the Shade” by Third World. It is the kind of memory that captures Theresa perfectly—free-spirited, joyful, loving, and completely herself.
Theresa loved her family deeply. She shared an especially close and unbreakable bond with her daughter, Brittany, and held a very special place in her heart for her grandson, Michael Stephen Winter. Her relationship with Brittany was filled with love, laughter, memories, challenges, forgiveness, and a connection that could never truly be measured in words. Through every chapter of life, Theresa was not simply Brittany’s mother—she was a permanent part of her heart and of the person she became.
Family was woven throughout Theresa’s life. She was the beloved daughter of Carol Woodard and stepdaughter of Ray Woodard, and was surrounded throughout her life by a large family that included her sisters Kelly Mincey, Angel Dunn, Rosie Mincey, and Stephanie Mincey, and her brothers Russell Woodard and Mack Mincey. Her family also included her father-in-law, Harold Baker, and the many relatives whose lives and memories became intertwined with her own.
Theresa also shared a treasured friendship with her best friend, Kathy Howell. Family is not always defined only by blood or marriage, and friendships that endure through the chapters of a person’s life become part of that family story as well.
Those who knew Theresa will remember her in different ways, but each will carry something of her with them: her humor, her bold personality, her music, her stories, her strength, her dancing, or simply the unmistakable way she could make her presence known.
Theresa’s life was not defined by only one season or one circumstance. She lived, loved, struggled, laughed, danced, made memories, and left behind people whose lives will forever be different because she was part of them.
Although saying goodbye to her is incredibly painful, the love she gave and the memories she created do not end here. They remain in the stories that will continue to be told, in familiar songs that suddenly bring her back for a moment, in photographs, in laughter, and in the hearts of the people who loved her.
She will be missed more than words can say and remembered with love for all the years to come.
Walk good, Reggae Mama. We love you.
