Thurman Earl
Earwood
Aug 27, 1947 — Jul 7, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thurman Earwood, who peacefully entered his eternal home on July 7, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on August 27, 1947, Thurman lived a life defined by faith, hard work, kindness, and unwavering love for family. He was a man of strong Christian faith. Thurman loved the Lord and never hesitated to share a testimony of his God.
He proudly worked as a professional truck driver for more than 53 years, traveling all 50 states across the open road, which provided him with countless memories, lifelong friendships, and volumes of stories to share.
Thurman was a member of Emerson Masonic Lodge Number 738. Other than traveling, Thurman enjoyed canoeing with a group of buddies. Once, they canoed down the Buffalo River. He liked attending gospel singings and camp meetings. Thurman always enjoyed friendships, helping others, and just people in general. He liked watching TV, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with his little best friend, Baxter, a spoiled, very intelligent Yorkshire Terrier. He held many titles, but the one he liked especially was "PawPaw" from a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He treasured every opportunity to be with them.
Thurman is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Jean Hendricks-Earwood; his son, Duane, and spouse, Jayna; daughters, Joni Jones and spouse, Andrea, and Mindy Stroud and spouse, Andrew; a brother, Gerald Earwood; and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous family members and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Thurman is preceded in death by his father, Oran Earwood; his mother, Annie Bivins Earwood; and a sister, Joyce Crymes.
While his presence will be missed, his legacy of love and devotion will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know him.
