Timothy Jay Ely, a beloved Father, Grandfather (Pops), Brother, and Uncle, departed this world on December 28, 2025, at the age of 60. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 8, 1965, Timothy’s life was a testament to the joy of family, unwavering strength and positivity through all circumstances, the innocence of simple pleasures, and a deep appreciation for the world around him.

Tim found immense happiness in the little things—spending time with his children and grandchildren, feeding neighborhood wildlife, going for rides in his wheelchair around his neighborhood, cooking, and passionately supporting his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins. He also had a special appreciation for life’s greener moments.

Tim also took great pride in his years running Colonial Pizza, where his work ethic, warmth, and sense of community were felt by all who knew him.

He was a devoted father to his children, Emily Segaloff (Derek), Patrick Ely (Ashley), and Brendan Ely, and he took great pride in his role as “Pops” to Teddy, Scarlett and Lucas, as well as Isaac. The bonds he cultivated with his family were unbreakable, grounded in unconditional love and support.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Rose Mary and Ernest Ely, his brothers, Greg Ely and Michael Ely (Kerry) and his best four legged friend Milo boy. He is now reunited with them, at peace and surrounded by love.

He is survived by his loving children and their mother Laurie Ely, his grandchildren, and his siblings: Sue (John), Mark (Trish), Jeff (Penny), Julia (Rick), Darlene (Ron), Robert, and Barbara (John), along with many cherished nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and joy.

As we remember Tim, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for family and the beauty of life. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
