Wanda Lee Moody, a dedicated public servant and loving matriarch, passed away on July 27, 2025, at her home in Cumming, Georgia. Born on October 9, 1938, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Wanda devoted over 20 years of her professional life to government service, working diligently as an assistant to the controller in accounting.

Wanda was not only a remarkable professional but also a compassionate and nurturing individual. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her generous spirit, and her unwavering support for her family. Dirk recalls the encouragement Wanda provided him before a junior high football game when he was filled with anxiety, showcasing her ability to uplift and inspire those around her. The family shared countless joyful memories, from summer days spent at the lake and river to treasured camping trips, which fostered bonds that will last a lifetime. A particularly memorable journey was their trip to Berlin, where they experienced the joy of traveling by train together.

Throughout her life, Wanda had passions that brought her immense joy. She loved to quilt and sew, often creating cherished items for her loved ones. In her early years, she enjoyed playing golf with her husband, Rosser L. Moody, a pastime that further highlighted their enduring partnership. Wanda’s love for her dogs was profound and illustrated her nurturing nature.

Wanda's legacy as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother will continue through her beloved family. She is survived by her husband, Rosser L. Moody; daughter, Cindy Metzler (Bob); sons, Dirk Moody (Mary) and Scott Moody; grandchildren, Jenny Norman, Rachell Baker, Joshua Moody, and Sarah McCollum; and 22 great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward her spirit and the values she instilled in them throughout her life.

As we mourn the passing of Wanda Lee Moody, we celebrate her life—a life marked by dedication to her family, commitment to her career, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her warmth and generosity will remain in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
