Wendell Joseph "Joey" Holcomb Jr.

Wendell Joseph (Joey) Holcomb, Jr., age 60, passed away August ,20, 2025 in Waco, Georgia.

Joey was born November 18, 1964 in Atlanta, Georgia to Wendell and Shirley Holcomb.

He graduated from Douglas County High School in 1983. After graduation he went into metal fabrication working as a welder and press brake operator. He worked at Camp Manufacturing (BSA) in Winston Georgia when he officially retired in May 2025.

With his talents in metal fabrication, he would make lamps, tables, shepherd hooks, fence gates and more items for family and friends.

One of his passions was fishing He enjoyed spending many Sunday mornings fishing at his father’s lake.

Joey is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Lee) Holcomb; grandparents, Wilburn Holcomb and Edna (Pruitt) Holcomb, William and Annie (McCurry) Lee.

He is survived by his sons, Wendell “Joseph” Holcomb III (Susan), Virginia Beach, VA and Lewis “Dakota” Holcomb, Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Ellie Holcomb and Ian Holcomb, Virginia Beach, VA; father and step-mother, Wendell and Juanita Holcomb, Waco, GA; sister, Anita Bailey (Bart), Covington, GA; brothers, David Holcomb, Piedmont, AL and Roger Holcomb (Christy), Winston, GA; ex-wife, Wanda Holcomb, Douglasville, GA; Beloved cat, CJ; good friends (more like sons) Cory Cochran and Josh Rodriquez as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at 393 Thomas Road located in Waco, GA 30182 (casual attire).
