William Hershel Hamby

William Hershel Hamby passed away on April 9, 2025, in McCaysville, Georgia, at the age of 44. Born on March 2, 1981, he was the beloved son of Larry and Wanda Hamby. William was known to those around him for his kindness and compassion—qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His presence brought meaning to many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. He found joy and fulfillment in woodworking, a craft that allowed him to express both creativity and care through his hands.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Damien Breaux, as well as being a doting uncle to his nephew Ethan and niece Eden-Grace. His presence brought warmth to family gatherings and comfort to those who knew him best.

Following his wishes along with his family’s, William will have a private ceremony with immediate family. He will be cremated and be kept by his loving parents as his final resting place. At a later date, the family will have a celebration of life for extended family and friends. 

William is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hilliard H. and Imogene Jenkins and paternal grandparents, William “Ott” and Ruthell Hamby.
