Ray Garrett, born on May 31, 1963, in Marietta, Georgia, left this world on September 23, 2025, at the age of 62. He was a shining light in the lives of many, a beloved brother, and a cherished friend. Ray was known for his unwavering spirit and infectious laughter, cultivated through years spent working as a plumber at Amos Plumbing. His dedication to his career was matched only by his love for life.
Ray's jovial personality set him apart; he was well-known for being a jokester, always ready with a grin and a clever quip to lift the spirits of those around him. He found true joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly fishing, which brought him peace and happiness. Ray's ability to tease those around him, with a twinkle in his eye, created countless cherished memories that his loved ones will hold onto forever.
He was educated at Cherokee High School, where he undoubtedly began to cultivate the humor and warmth that would define him. As the years passed, he became a brother not just in blood but in heart; an irreplaceable figure in the lives of his siblings.
Ray is survived by his loving family: his brother Dennis Garrett and his wife Glenda, his sister Mary Amos and her husband Robert, his sister Linda Ice and her husband Roger, his sister Pat Henderson and her late husband Jack, his brother Joe Garrett and his late wife Diane, his sister Debbie Ingram and her husband Darrell, his brother Ronnie Garrett and his late wife Joanne, his brother Ricky Garrett and his wife Sue, and his brother Mark Garrett and his wife Randee. Each of them carries a piece of Willie in their hearts, forever influenced by his warmth and laughter.
He rejoins in eternal rest those who have gone before him: his mother, Willie Mae Logan Garrett; his father, Maurice Delbert Garrett; his beloved wife, Debbie Martin Garrett; and his brothers, David Maurice Garrett, Daniel Timothy Garrett, and Herbie Andrew Garrett. Together, they are part of a family forever entwined in love, honored by Willie’s gentle spirit.
