IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yana
Tate
July 30, 1956 – February 17, 2026
Yana Tate, 69, of Jasper, Georgia, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Yana was the beloved daughter of Glenda and John McAbee. From an early age, she carried a gentle spirit and a servant’s heart that would come to define her life. She grew into a woman whose greatest milestones were not measured in accolades, but in love, especially her marriage, her children, and the beautiful family she helped build.
Yana shared a loving and steadfast marriage with her husband, Thayer M. Tate. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and quiet joy. She found her greatest happiness simply living life alongside him in everyday routines, encouraging his newest business venture, or playfully persuading him to watch cheesy Hallmark movies. She believed deeply in the beauty of ordinary moments.
A faithful Christian, Yana lived her beliefs daily. She did not seek attention or recognition; instead, she chose to be the steady support in the background, the encourager, the listener, the one who made others feel seen. She had a rare gift for finding the good in people and drawing out their joy. Loving, kind, patient, and endlessly giving, Yana made it her mission to celebrate and support others. Her life was a quiet testimony of Christ’s love at work.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thayer M. Tate; her son, Thayer Tate and his wife, Lori; her daughter, Tiffany Tate; her grandchildren, Geran Tate and Rylan Tate; her mother, Glenda McAbee; her siblings, Glynis Creamer and Mosha Fuller; and her nieces, Caycee Tyler, Kyra Creamer, and Lydia Blackburn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Roswell, Ga.
Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of love, faith, and selfless devotion will continue to shine through the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23
Care of Yana has been entrusted to In Their Honor Funeral and Cremation Providers.
