Yvonne McNeill Hunter, born September 29, 1970, passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 55. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a lifetime of memories that will continue to be carried by her children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, and everyone who had the opportunity to know her.

Yvonne was a woman who found happiness and comfort in the familiar things that made everyday life her own. She enjoyed watching true crime television, classic TV shows, and game shows, and she could spend hours playing spot-the-difference games. She enjoyed smoking her cigarettes, settling in with something good to watch, and simply enjoying the quiet comforts of home.

She also loved getting away and experiencing the beauty of the outdoors. Whether it was a trip to the beach, where she could enjoy the ocean and the coast, or time spent in the mountains, Yvonne appreciated those opportunities to escape the everyday routine, make memories, and enjoy the scenery around her.

Yvonne attended Summerville High School and Trident Technical College and worked with Utili-Quest. Her life, however, cannot be measured simply by the places she attended, the work she did, or the things she enjoyed. Her greatest and most lasting legacy is the family she leaves behind.

Being a mother and grandmother was an important part of Yvonne's life. She was the mother of Tyler McNeil, Alex Hunter, and Alexxis Hunter, and the grandmother of Aubree McNeil, Karsyn McNeil, and Kinsley McNeil. The relationships, memories, laughter, difficult moments, ordinary days, holidays, conversations, and years they shared with her are pieces of Yvonne that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Yvonne is survived by her mother, Barbra Doniel; her sisters, Terri Harwell and Cheryl Griffin; her brother, Donnie Neece; her sons, Tyler McNeil and Alex Hunter; her daughter, Alexxis Hunter; her daughter-in-law, Madison McNeil; and her granddaughters, Aubree McNeil, Karsyn McNeil, and Kinsley McNeil.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe McNeil, and her stepfather, Bucky Suggs.

Those closest to Yvonne will remember her not only through the milestones of her life, but through the countless small things that made her who she was—the shows she watched, the games she played, the places she enjoyed visiting, the conversations they shared, and the familiar routines that may have seemed ordinary at the time but now carry a much deeper meaning.

Her absence will be felt in those ordinary moments. There will be shows that bring back memories of her, places that do not feel quite the same without her, stories that will continue to be told, and moments when those who loved her will wish they could hear her voice or share one more conversation.

Although Yvonne's life ended far sooner than her family would have wanted, the love and memories she leaves behind did not end with her passing. They will live on through her children, her grandchildren, her family, and everyone whose life became a part of hers.

Yvonne will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of Yvonne's life will be held at a future date. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Yvonne's name to Cancer Support Community Indiana.
